During times of trouble….perspective is important. YOUR CROSS / YOUR REALITY Thirty-nine years and eleven months. That is the amount of time my father was afforded on this earth before his untimely death back in 1989. Actually, it was quite timely considering he always said
Richard, thank you for sharing a little piece of your story. I too lost my father to a deep depression episode culminating in his willing himself to die after after a long manic phase. My brother and his daughter (who I am raising because he is unable and her mom is unwilling) both suffer with depression.
As a sister in Christ Jesus, I would love to invite you to our table to dine. We are in the mountains of north central WV, so if your travels take you through this neck of the woods, we will literally leave a light on for you. Peace and love brother...Mara
God Bless You. May we all be a light to the world both in what we say and do. May we not be people pleasers, world pleasers, but be obedient and pleasing to God Only. May we reach out to this hurting world and show them who our hope is in.
powerful testimony RTS. Thank you. It’s all a matter of perspective, isn’t it? Not too long ago, I finally abandoned Twitter for personal health reasons. I followed all my Democratic state senators and governor and would feel this kind of “rage” in my heart toward them every time they tweeted! My BP would go through the roof. Finally, God said, “let go” and put your trust in Me. I did. Thank God I did! In due time, I realized they’re sinners just like me who have been invited to the same Table. I don’t judge them anymore. I can talk to them at the same Table as Jesus would have done. I forgive them as I’ve been forgiven. Perspective is one God’s greatest miracles!
Thank you for sharing this part of your story and for this beautifully conveyed perspective. It has been in my mind through the day, and lightened my heart. I discovered some time ago that the majority of people consider themselves well above average in intellect... And upon reflection, had to study my own mind on the idea. Everyone walking the earth has a "backpack" of burdens, and although I've had some knee-capping hardships of my own, I've never wished to trade my backpack with someone else. (Mine seems personalized for me.) My thoughts probably sound random, I'm not as articulate as you are. But wanted to reply and let you know, this piece was such a blessing to me this day. Thank you!
Thank you RtS for sharing. There are so many people who have suffered tragedies and loss. We are to share the comfort we are given to comfort others in their time of need. You have done that. Our true peace and redemption come only in knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior. Good bless you brother. 🙏❤️
We may not know one another, and yet we are still brother and sister in Christ. Thank you for your encouragement. It is a spiritual gift and I thank you for sharing it to lift up the body of Christ.
Poignant to the point of tears.
Thank you for sharing such a personal insight and thus lifting us all to our place at the table.
