HOW GREAT IS THE DARKNESS?

2 PETER 2:12-19

But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. They have eyes full of adultery,[g] insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet's madness. These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved.

If anyone of us were ever under the illusion that somehow a Supreme Court Justice is immune to the plights of the common man, we should probably wake up from that illusion. Nobody has had to endure more slings and arrows of outrageous fortune than Clarence Thomas. For many, the Brett Kavanaugh hearings were groundbreaking in their content when Christine-Blasey Blah Blah Blah brought a host of allegations against Kavanaugh. They were of course, a complete collections of lies that even the idiot democrats finally resigned to conceding.

But what happened to Thomas in October of 1991 was a complete and total criminal event broadcast on live TV. A Supreme Court nominee on the verge of confirmation being called back to answer charges that he had once made unwelcome sexual comments to a female employee. But 1991, although just 31 years ago, was a time when these types of attempted takedowns were not nearly as telegraphed as they are today. So when they occurred the tension was beyond palpable. You could almost see the Kavanaugh fake scandal coming on but what happened to Thomas was truly out of the blue. And of course, at the center of it all was none other than Senator Joe Biden.

The opening statement from Thomas was powerful but it wasn’t until he was finished that Senator Joe Biden announced that Anita Hill did not want her affidavit made public prior to her testimony. It was clear the fix was in.

HOW GREAT IS THE GRACE?

But praise God, the fix never worked and here we are 3 decades later and God has finally placed into the hand of the ever so patient Clarence Thomas the mother of all boomerangs. A boomerang that, after Roe, may stay in the air for quite some time.

But there were telltale signs back in 2018 that the Thomas / Trump relationship was one of an unspoken understanding. An understanding of what precisely?

What happened with the overturning of Roe v. Wade cannot be overstated. But if you think for a second that these monsters are going to stop playing hardball you’ve got another thing coming. What’s very interesting about this whole scenario is that I am becoming increasingly convinced that what we are seeing is coordination between forces of good within the judicial branch and, well let’s just say ‘outside forces’. This is coordination that in come cases appeared to work to our detriment.

• Let’s hold off on this case because it really belongs to the state of Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania, or Michigan.

• Let’s hold off on this because the President doesn’t really have standing in the Texas case.

• And then a whole host of other cases that they never even so much as looked at.

And in other situations it worked to our advantage:

• Overturning of Roe v. Wade

• Supreme Court striking down the New York State Rifle & Pistol vs. Bruen which was the handgun-licensing law

But this level of coordination speaks to a larger philosophy that was obviously in the works. Let’s call it the ‘RTS Political Freeze Tag’. You see, what has taken place here is that when Trump put the 3 nominees in place it gave him ‘free power’. Power that exists whether he is in or out of office. In the now widely replayed video of the Trump/Clinton debate about the question of abortion and Roe v. Wade, Donald Trump made some interesting statements but those are obvious statements because it stands to reason that if Donald Trump is elected he’ll appoint conservative judges and Hillary vice versa if she is elected. But knowing what we know now and if you fast forward to 2024, you cannot rule out the possibility of a republican house, senate, white house, and the possibility that Donald J. Trump may appoint an astonishing 4th Supreme Court Justice when the great Clarence Thomas retires.

But aren’t we forgetting the real fire which was the 2nd half of that clip? The clip where Donald paints her white suit blood red before or very eyes.

I noticed something that Hillary said which was a kind of self-inflicted foreshadowing. She said, “I can tell you, the government has no business in the decisions that women make with their families in accordance with their faith with medical advice and I will stand up for that right”.

That’s right Hillary! The government has no place in it, so let’s send it back to the states where it belongs. You got EXACTLY what you requested.

What wretched soles these people are, but as the Apostle Peter said, they are like irrational animals, creatures of instinct……BUT…..born to be caught and destroyed.

NOW YOU SEE ME

If I am being honest with myself, I’d have to say that to this day the best childhood game I played with brothers, sisters, and friends had to be hide-and-seek. Something inside of all of us wants to discover without being discovered.

But the draw of the game is knowing that you just won’t find what you’re looking for until the very end. And of course, that is the point where the popular reactions kick in….

• “I didn’t think to look there”

• “Wow. You fooled us all”

• “I almost looked there but decided to look somewhere else”

One time I was playing a game of Balderdash with my wife and in-laws. For those not familiar, Balderdash is basically a game where you’re given a thesaurus level word that pretty much nobody knows the definition of (at least not off the top of their head). At that point, everyone gives their made-up definition to try and get others to choose it. The pile of bogus definitions is mixed in with the real one and then everyone gets a guess. Rumor was that I was getting pretty good at the game so my wife and in-laws decided they would conspire in forming a plan to make sure I lost. When all was said and done, I technically did lose but still managed to get 2nd place because 2 people still picked my definition. How is that possible? How can an outcome be pre-determined yet some of the co-conspirators fall prey to the counterattack? Especially when the one being conspired against didn’t even know there’s was a conspiracy. Or did he?

This would be a great world if all we ever heard was truth. But the unfortunate reality is that either we develop a keen sense of a well-informed ‘reality’ that is grounded in a sound mind and instincts that God gave each and every one of us or we become subjects of those that are in the business of framing reality for us.

For example, the framed reality says….

• You need to lift up President Zelensky as a great hero who is willing to die for the Ukrainian people. We should be obligated to give him $40 billion.

A well-informed reality says….

• President Zelensky has an agenda that includes a sit-down meeting with the great geo-political mind and superb judge of character Ben Stiller of ‘Meet the Parents’ and ‘Zoolander’ fame. Are these the actions of a President in peril?

  

The framed reality says….

• The 2020 election was a referendum on Donald Trump more than it was a victory for Joe Biden.

A well-informed reality says….

• Even if you pre-programmed 81 million Twitter bots to cast votes for Joe Biden they would somehow still manage to understand that even artificial intelligence is not stupid enough to do something that insane.

THE WHOLE TRUTH

On the Patel Patriot Power Hour the other night, he and I walked through a series of video clips and scenarios pertaining to both the Part 2 interview with Gregg Phillips and the 12-page statement from Donald Trump in response to the January 6th hearing taking place. As part of a ‘Truth Context’ exercise I took only the first 4 pages of that Trump statement and I eliminated anything that could even remotely be misconstrued as ‘opinion’. The truth standard was high so even comments like ‘Our economy is in the gutter’ and ‘We are an embarrassment around the world’ (see below caption) did not make the final cut even though it’s a widely held opinion. It is opinion, nonetheless. Using that level of standard reduced the first 4 pages down to just under 2 pages.

With that as our grounding, let’s read through some of his ‘Truth Context’ statement reduced to primarily just facts.

What I gathered from the ‘truth only’ Trump statement, is that he is quickly building a case that is undeniable and therefore unstoppable. It’s easy for the truth to get lost when it’s enveloped in opinion. Opinion throws gas on the fire. Truth IS the fire. But what we need to understand is that if you’re reading this article you are probably not the person whom Donald Trump is trying to reach. The chances you’re already supporting and will continue to support Trump are probably 99%. So those statements serve no purpose for you other than to reconfirm your convictions. But believe it or not, there are still lots of people out there that didn’t vote for Trump, but they still buy groceries and pump gas. These statements can have profound effect on people especially as they become increasingly concerned or perhaps desperate for answers.

 I mean it quite literally when I say that this may be the first time since his inauguration speech of January 2017 that he has been on the offensive in a way that forces the enemy to either respond in a meaningful way or be torpedoed by the onslaught that is Donald Trump and his ‘extreme truth’ campaign. The difference between then and now is quite startling. Obama had bad policies and bad vision for this country, but it was very much a salvageable situation. But, what we are seeing now is a confluence of events that if not stopped will bring this country to an end. Anyone with a functioning brain can now see this for what it is which is (now to quote Donald Trump) “ a disaster the likes of which we have never seen”.

Truth is ‘gas prices are too high’. Extreme truth is ‘I may not have enough gas or money to make it to work today’. Once the meter hits extreme truth then light bulbs started coming on in the heads of folks that were previously standing in a dimly lit room. What Trump has mastered is the ability to mold opinions based on changing circumstances. Ronald Reagan possessed this same skillset.

Reagan utilized this skill with more of a calm demeanor that was perfect for the time because Jimmy Carter was really a threat to nobody, he was just ineffective.

Trump uses bulldozer verbiage which is also perfect for the time because now the threat is very real, and it must be eliminated. But this threat is only susceptible to extermination when it doesn’t see you as a threat.

I don’t believe I ever opened an article with the Apostle Peter and then moved onto Pink Floyd but here you go….

We need to understand that it’s mission critical we allow Trump to paint the background as black as possible because diamonds always shine the brightest when placed on a black background. It seems crazy, I know, but please allow this wild Rembrandt to keep painting…..because I think he’s just about done and you and I both know, it will be a masterpiece. If it were a motion picture it’s probably somewhere along the lines of Top Gun meets The Wizard of Oz. Things are moving fast now with a lot happening behind the curtain….but home is now in view, and there’s no place like home.

PRECISION

If there is anyone the enemy doesn’t see as a threat right now it’s a man by the name of Mike Pence. After all, he did give them what they wanted which was a Joe Biden presidency and Donald Trump forever etched into the American Political Wall of Shame. That is what he gave them, isn’t it? Or is that their ‘framed reality’? If it is then what would be their ‘well-informed reality’? Perhaps something like this….

Mike Pence was the keeper of the diamonds and he left the cabinet unlocked. But based on recent statements it sure does sound like he knows something we didn’t think he knew.

That was the former Vice-President standing in front of members of the University Club of Chicago and mincing no words. But even with a statement as direct as that, he is quite aware that with 4.6 months (but who’s counting?) until the mid-term elections course correction is a moot point. The Joe Biden cake is baked and that brown stuff you see on top of it is not chocolate frosting my friends.

But let me tell you what caught my attention far more than those words. No less than 8 times in that speech he referenced the Trump/Pence administration, which given the current climate he could have easily justified steering clear of the ‘T’ word. He could have said ‘Our Administration’ or ‘During our Term’ or ‘When I was Vice-President’….but it was as if he was going out his way to make sure he was saying ‘Trump/Pence’. And this speech was a complete takedown of Joe Biden. He did not relent for one second. I have never seen that kind of Mike Pence.

I will go back to what I said earlier. This is the strategy of a team on offense. The official statements Donald Trump made last week coupled by the Mike Pence speech in Chicago this week sounded more like well-orchestrated talking points designed to make sure the avalanche that has already started only gains momentum. When the former president and the man that ‘supposedly’ betrayed him are saying pretty much the exact same thing just a few days apart from each another this is not by accident.

But as is often the case, we can let our bias and excitement for what we ‘wish’ were taking place cloud our reality of what actually is taking place. If my wife says she is going to bake a treat that doesn’t necessarily mean that treat will be chocolate chip cookies and they’ll be done tonight. Now, if I start to feel the heat of the oven or begin smelling something baking then that may start informing my reality. But the dead giveaway will be when I see the cookies being pulled from the oven. Then and only then will I know for sure because baking a good cookie can be an artform that is only made better though proper mixing and appropriate baking time and temperature.

For those wondering ‘what in the world are they waiting for’? I understand your confusion and frustration, this is a very difficult time for many and in some cases people are becoming desperate. But don’t let thoughts of desperation or unnecessary panic frame your reality. As bad as your situation may be, and believe me I empathize and sympathize….the tough reality is that the world doesn’t revolve around me or you even if we wish it would. Rudyard Kipling said you need to “keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you”. But in addition to keeping your cool during times of high stress, real leadership understands the excruciating amount of detail involved in making sure even the simplest of details have the biggest impact possible. It’s a very rare breed that possesses both temperament and attention to to detail….

FROM CUBIC ZIRCONIA TO THE REAL THING

Way back in 2011, right after the release of his long form birth certificate, Obama tried a takedown of Donald Trump disguised in comedy. And at the exact moment when Obama said, “Tonight I am prepared to go a step further. For the first time, I am releasing my official birth video” this brought the entire ballroom into complete hysterical laughter, with the exception of two men; Rick Scott and Donald Trump both of whom just sat there with complete stone faces. This was the type of public humiliation that Donald Trump (like Clarence Thomas) will never, ever forgot. I am sure that the arrogant Obama had no earthly idea the fight he had just picked. If I were a betting man, I would say in a Trump 2nd term there will be some unfinished business when it comes to Public Interest Declassification especially as it pertains to the minimum requirements necessary to be President of The United States.

But what about all these diamonds that everyone keeps saying needs to be returned before the 2022 midterms? Heck, Trump is the one spearheading that message. “They stole the diamonds and they need to be returned before we can move onto 2022”.

Really? Do people that know well ahead of time that their house is getting ready to be robbed leave diamonds laying around? Well of course they don’t. They leave the cubic zirconia because most thieves are idiots that can’t tell the difference. So, for everyone claiming that Trump thinks they stole the diamonds, you’ll also have to concede that he was either too dumb to stop them or not willing to stop them. I subscribe to neither of those theories.

Part of the point above is that you cannot spill the beans on one initiative (election fraud) at the potential expense relating to the timing of another (abortion). The timing of the overturn of Roe v. Wade could not have been more perfect. This war has so many fronts and if we get locked into just one front then we lose focus and in some cases we can lose hope altogether because we can trick ourselves into thinking nothing is happening.

LIFE….AND LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY

While nobody holds folks like Donald Trump, Clarence Thomas, Sam Alito, and Antonin Scalia before them in higher regard than me; I also understand from where this all starts.

• Donald Trump didn’t time the death of Scalia which ushered in Neil Gorsuch. God did that.

• Donald Trump didn’t time the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg which ushered in Amy Coney Barret. God did that.

• Donald Trump will not time the departure of Clarence Thomas from either his Supreme Court tenure or his time on this earth. God will do that.

None of these people can truly control what is next. God and God alone will do that.

The thing that matters the most in the ‘Great Awakening’ is that it not only includes the massive amount of people that are waking up each day but also the incalculable and compounding number added to it on Friday. In the below photo visualize your son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, niece, nephew……they now have the opportunity to raise generation upon generation of kids specifically designed to teach about Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness…..with great emphasis on ‘Life’.

Because the only thing God truly allows us to make sure comes next….

….is the next of kin.
